Confidentiality
The Integrity Commission strives to uphold the confidentiality of the sensitive and confidential information it contains. The legislative scheme in which the Commission operates places very stringent confidential obligations on the Commissioners as well as its staff members.
To this end, The Commissioners and all members of staff are required to take an oath of secrecy (Section 33 of the Integrity Commission Ordinance). In addition, a breach of this confidentiality obligation is a criminal offense and attracts very stiff penalties (see section 60 of the Integrity Commission Ordinance). The Commission and its staff members take this obligation extremely seriously and request those dealing with the Commission to respect such policies and guidelines that are in place to ensure rigorous compliance with this confidentiality obligation.
